Changes After Construction:
  • The Cibali Fire of 1782 left the lodge in ruins.
  • After the plot of the lodge became vacant once again, it was revived in 1856 (Hijri 1273) by Edirneli Sheikh Seyyid Muhammed Sıdki Efendi.
  • After the fire of 31 May 1918, fire victims were settled in the lodge.
  • The roof of the tevhidhane, whose maintenance had been neglected, collapsed in 1932.
  • The meşruta was demolished in 1977, and with its site turning into an empty plot, the integrity of the lodge was weakened even further.
  • Reconstruction works began in 2018; with the completion of construction in 2022, the structure was brought back to life.
Prominent Features:
  • It was also known by the names Şah Lodge and Mahmud Bedrettin Efendi Lodge.
  • The waqf deed was drawn up in 1765 (Hijri 1179); the lodge was entered into the Evkaf register in 1770 (Hijri 1184).
  • The lodge deed stipulated that, in the appointment of the postnişin, authorization had to be received from the Uşşaki Asitane.
  • Sheikh Mahmud Bedrettin Efendi died in 1773-74 (Hijri 1187) while serving as sheikh of the lodge; his grave is in the lodge cemetery.
  • To the present day, the tomb structure on Keçeciler Avenue and a limited number of gravestones from the cemetery have survived.
