About the Person:
  • Descended from the Prophet Muhammad, Seyyid Ali Efendi served as a religious instructor (müderris) in Istanbul during the Ottoman period. He was known for his knowledge in religious sciences and his teaching circles. It is believed that he was originally from Bafra. As indicated on his gravestone, visitors are encouraged to remember him with prayers and recite al-Fatiha for his soul.
