Changes After Construction
After the fire of 1914, it was used as a shelter for people left homeless.
In 1976, it acquired the function of a masjid with the addition of a minaret.
A room at the right corner of the entrance was later converted into a mosque/masjid.
Featured Highlights
It is also known as the Efdalzade Madrasa and the Malta Madrasa.
It is a small-scale madrasa consisting of domed rooms arranged around a small courtyard.
In the courtyard, there is an ablution place with a stone basin and three taps.
Some of the shops aligned with the gate are units that generated income for the madrasa endowment.
It is located to the west of the Fatih Mosque, in the vicinity of the Malta Bazaar.
