- Changes after its construction
  • The prayer area was expanded to the north and combined with the adjacent apartment building.
  • A staircase leading to the women’s gallery was added.
  • Over time, it was transformed into a reinforced concrete structure.
  • The chained bucket on the well has been removed today and the well has been closed.

  • It is also known as Zincirlikuyu Mosque.
  • It is said that the construction costs of the mosque were covered by selling the water drawn from the adjacent well which would turn into vinegar miraculously.
  • In the cemetery in front of the mihrab are the graves of Sirkeci Müslihiddin Efendi, his family and Seyyid Hafız Mehmed, who was the imam of the mosque for 41 years.
  • It was built on a total land of 300 m² and covers an area of 100 m² including the garden and courtyard.
  • There is a marble mihrab, minbar and preacher’s pulpit.
  • Rectangular and pointed arched windows on the south and west facades illuminate the interior.
