Changes After Construction
All that remains from the mosque today are a minaret, a passage and a low wall.
Since it has no inscription, the exact date of construction is unknown.
Over time, the building has become a touristic area beyond its original purpose.

It was designed by Mimar Sinan and built for Grand Vizier Sokullu Mehmet Pasha.
The building is also known as the ‘Köprübaşı Mosque’.
It has an octagonal, monolithic (made by carving a single piece of stone) minaret, which is unique in Türkiye. The only similar structure in the world is in Egypt.
There is a balcony-like pavilion on the minaret and the stone railings of the octagonal body are built in rubble stone style.
It is one of the three mosques with the same name built by Mimar Sinan in Istanbul.
