Changes After Construction

  1. In 1752, the small mosque was converted into a mosque by Mehmed Ali Agha, one of the Ihtisab Aghas of the reign of Sultan Mahmud I, by adding a mihrab

  2. It underwent extensive restoration in 1993.

Featured Highlights

  • It is a building with a single minaret and a single balcony

  • The walls are made of masonry and the roof is made of wood

  • The brick minaret is plastered with cement

  • The women's gallery is seated on two wooden columns

  • Its mihrab is covered with Çanakkale tiles and next to it there is a tile panel depicting the Kaaba

  • It is the only mosque in Üsküdar with a picture of the Kaaba

  • There are two windows on each facade, designed to receive sufficient daylight

  • Solak Sinan's tomb is located inside the cemetery

  • Near the cemetery, next to the Şehzade Fountain, a Byzantine column capital attracts attention

  • The fountain, built by Matbah Emini Hacı Halil Efendi in 1728, is located at the corner where two roads meet.
