Surp Andon Armenian Catholic Church
Changes After Construction:
- The church and the two adjacent properties were placed under the administration of the Armenian Catholic Spiritual Leadership under an 1877 agreement.
- Within the restoration launched in 2019, the garden, the walls, and the cemetery section were renewed.
- Following the restoration process, a liturgy was held in the church after a long interval.
Prominent Features:
- The church belongs to the Armenian Catholic Patriarchate of Turkey.
- The church is dedicated to Saint Anthony.
- The building has a single-nave basilical plan; it consists of a narthex, naos, choir section, apse, baptistery, and auxiliary spaces.
- There is a tower at the north and south corners of the western entrance; the exterior displays semi-Gothic stylistic features.
