Changes After Construction
The structure underwent comprehensive repair through the philanthropy of Harutyun Amira Nevruz; it was reopened for worship in 1834 by Patriarch Isdepanos II Ağavni.
The structure was restored from the foundations in the 2005–2006 period; in 2006, it was consecrated and reopened for worship by Patriarch Mesrob II.

The church belongs to the Armenian Patriarchate of Turkey.
The structure is also known as “Yeniköy Küd Dıpo Surp Asdvadzadzin Armenian Church.”
The church is dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
The complex developed around the centrally located church with a single-nave basilica plan; on the sides are the baptistery and pastophorion rooms.
At the rear of the church is a small graveyard/burial area; there is a cistern at the entrance of the surrounding wall; and there are fountains at various points within the complex.
