Changes After Construction
The church was renovated in 1617.
The church underwent repair in 1727, during the patriarchate of Hovhannes IX Golod, under the supervision of Sarkis Kalfa.
The church burned in the great fire of 1887; it was rebuilt in masonry in 1888.
The latest restoration of the church was completed in 2006, and it was reopened for worship.
The Cemaran School was built in 1838 to the east of the church complex.
Featured Highlights
The church belongs to the Armenian Patriarchate of Turkey.
There are two tall stone bell towers on the right and left sides of the front façade of the building.
There are three fountains in the courtyard of the church, and the church has five doors.
There is a two-storey gallery above the entrance courtyard; chapels are located on the right and left sides of the front section.
There are Armenian inscriptions above the main entrance on the western façade.
