Changes After Construction
The church was renewed in 1846.
In 1890, the building was temporarily closed because of the danger of collapse.
The church and the surrounding complex were rebuilt in masonry in 1895 and were opened for worship during the period of Madteos İzmirliyan.
The building was reopened for worship in 2025.

Wedding and baptism ceremonies are held in the church.
The baptismal font is positioned in a niche near the apse on the north wall of the main space; above the font there is a painting depicting the baptism of Jesus.
