Changes After Construction
The first wooden church was renewed in 1816; it was demolished in the same year, and the trustee Canig Amira was exiled.
In accordance with Canig Amira’s will, the church was rebuilt in 1856.
The church burned in 1972; worship continued after a temporary repair.
The latest construction was carried out in 1978; it was reopened for worship by Patriarch Şınorhk.
The church underwent restoration in 2003; it was consecrated and reopened for worship by Archbishop Aram Ateşyan.
The most recent restoration was carried out in 2012; it was consecrated and reopened for worship by Bishop Sahak Maşalyan.
