Changes After Construction
The building was constructed in 1930 by Mustafa Şemsettin Şeniz, one of the architects of the early Republican period.
The campus was expanded with the construction of an annex building in 1983.
The structure, which underwent restoration in 2003, bears traces of the period architecture of the early years of the Republic.
Featured Highlights
Today, the school continues education as Sururi Secondary School; in its founding years, it provided education under the names Beyoğlu 10th School and Beyoğlu Sururi Primary School.
The school takes its name from Sururi Mehmed Efendi, the 16th-century scholar who served as the teacher of Şehzade Mustafa, the eldest son of Suleiman the Magnificent.
