Originally built as a madrasah guesthouse, the building was used as a madrasah after it lost its function as a guesthouse.
Its dome, which collapsed in the 1766 earthquake, was rebuilt after 1956.
The building, which served as a part of the Fatih Social Complex, also included a kitchen and soup kitchen that served meals to the residents of the guesthouse and the students of the madrasah.
Since it was built on a high point of the land, a caravanserai was also built under the building.
Today, it serves as a mosque for the students of the Fatih Mosque Men’s Quran Course.
It is open to the public during Friday prayers.
It was repaired and revived by the association and foundation in 1983.
It underwent extensive restoration in 2014.
