Changes After Its Construction:
  • It was repaired and enlarged in 1952.
  • The surrounding walls were repaired in 1982.
  • It was expanded in 1989 by adding an addition to its left side.
Prominent Features:
  • It is also known as “Çivizade Mosque”.
  • It has a square plan, masonry walls, and a tiled roof.
  • There is a maqsurah on each side of the worship stage.
  • Its minaret with iron railings and a single balcony is built of brick, and the door of the minaret is in the maqsurah on the left.
  • The narthex of the mosque, which is accessed by stairs, has a roof and is concrete.
  • All the walls are covered with paneling from the floor to the bottom of the windows, and the other parts are covered with tiles up to the ceiling.
  • There are 3 long windows on the right wall of the Harim (Prayer Hall) and 2 on the mihrab wall.
  • The ceiling and minbar are made of wood, the mihrab is made of marble, and the preacher’s pulpit is covered with tiles.
  • The women’s gallery has 6 wooden pillars and its exit is from the narthex.
  • Naqshbandi sheikhs Abdülhay Efendi and Abdülaziz Efendi are buried here.
