- Changes after its construction
  • The Sultan’s Lodge was added during the reign of Sultan Mahmud I.
  • In the fire caused by the electrical installation on November 15, 2020, the wooden parts of the mosque, calligraphy and illumination collections were damaged.
  • During the restoration process that started in November 2022, structural reinforcement was carried out by removing the burnt wood and reinforced concrete sections that were added later. The original hand-drawn decorations were replaced after conservation work, and the cone of the minaret was rebuilt.
  • It was reopened to worship on June 16, 2023, with a ceremony attended by the President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

  • Also known as the Vani Mehmet Efendi Mosque, the building has a single-balcony minaret and its entrance is from the west.
  • The mosque, which has a wooden frame structure, has a rectangular plan and its walls are made of masonry and hipped construction.
  • There is a wall fountain on the sea side of the mosque, and the part facing the grove was built in the form of a porch on high columns.
  • It was built by Vani Mehmed Efendi, who gave his name to the district, and a mansion and a madrasah were also built next to it.
