Changes After Construction:
Its construction was started by the Italian State before World War I, and construction was halted due to the war.
The structure was purchased from the Italian State by the Treasury; it was transferred to the Istanbul Municipality free of charge to be used for cultural purposes.
With law number 6585 in 1955, the transfer of a 6,933 m² portion of the property to the Treasury and the completion of the building by the Ministry of Public Works were envisaged.
The school moved to its current building in Maçka, which was repaired by the Ministry of National Education; it took the name “Maçka Vocational Institute” in 1958.
The name of the institution became “Maçka Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School” on 26.01.2017.
Following the cooperation protocol signed between the Ministry of National Education and Yıldız Technical University on 13.05.2022, the name of the institution became “Yıldız Technical University Maçka Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School.”
Prominent Features:
The structure has also been used as an educational building under the names Istanbul Tophane Boys’ Vocational Institute and Maçka Vocational Institute.
The structure was planned as an Italian embassy building; before this function could be realized, it transitioned into use as an educational building.
