Unknown
Changes After Construction:
The building commenced its educational activities on 20 Rabi’ al-awwal 913 (July 30, 1507).
The building fell into a state of ruin due to neglect.
It was repaired by the Foundations (Vakıflar) around 1960.
Following the repair, the building was assigned a function inconsistent with its architecture and used as the Hakkı Tarık Us Library.
An album record of the restoration works from 1961 exists.
Prominent Features:
The building has a porch arrangement supported by four columns in the front and two side walls.
The building consists of a double space with two adjacent domes.
The section on the left opens to the outside through a wide iwan; the second domed section features a hearth and serves as the main school space.
The building is a distinctive example among Istanbul’s primary schools in terms of its plan layout.
The iwan section is considered an element that continues the ancient Anatolian-Turkish architectural tradition.
