The inscription for the building is missing, but the text “Mihrimah Sultan built this / Primary school for children” was added later.
The building, which remained in ruins for a long time, was preserved after being repaired in the 1960s.
Prominent Features:
The building is the primary school (sıbyan mektebi) unit of the Mihrimah Sultan Complex.
The primary school is located to the southwest of the mosque, next to the tomb.
The structure consists of three units covered by a dome in the center and trough vaults on both sides.
There is a domed space in the center and a mirror-vaulted space separated by an arch next to it; the main classroom is the mirror-vaulted space with a hearth, accessed through the domed section.
