The construction date of the structure is Hijri 1145 / 1732 CE.
At a later date, a minbar was installed in the structure by İshak Efendi; the structure passed from the function of a masjid to that of a mosque.
In the Sufi Lodge lists, there is a record that its place was a plot in Hijri 1256 and Hijri 1294.
The inscription date above the entrance gate is Hijri 1304 / 1886; the gate arrangement carries a distinct layer of repair/renewal from this period.
The structure survives today with the combination of masjid–tevhidhane–graveyard; there is a well inside the masjid.
Prominent Features:
The other names of the structure are Hatuniye Sufi Lodge, Hoca Hüsam Sufi Lodge, Hüsam Efendi Sufi Lodge, Selim Efendi Sufi Lodge, and Kârîler Sufi Lodge.
The complex is established on a large and sloping plot; the spread of the group of structures across the land makes the Sufi Lodge-masjid arrangement legible within the whole of “garden + graveyard.”
The group of structures has multiple gates; the relationship of the gate thresholds with the street level shows that the urban interventions in the surroundings directly affected the perception of the structure.
The outer gate dated Hijri 1304 / 1886 is inscribed and has marble jambs; the inscription arrangement contains the Kalima al-Tawhid, and on both sides there are reliefs of the Mawlawi sikke.
The graveyard is part of the whole structure; the tombstones and inscriptions in the graveyard concretize the multilayered religious/social memory formed around the Sufi Lodge.
