Because the wooden frame had lost its structural capacity, the building was vacated; it fell out of use and became derelict.
As of 13 August 2017, the building had completed its restoration process.

The Sufi Lodge is a dervish lodge founded in the 19th century by the Naqshbandi sheikh Hocazâde Ahmed Kâmil Efendi.
There is a marble portal on the entrance façade; the building has a wooden frame system and its exterior wall cladding is of wood.
Plaster was applied over lath and plaster in the interior spaces; painted decoration is found on the walls and ceilings of the tawhidkhana.
There is a small courtyard between the two buildings; the graves of the leading figures of the Sufi Lodge are located in the tawhidkhana section.
The courtyard fountain beside the door is dated 1877-1878 (Hijri 1294); the ablution trough belonging to the Sufi Lodge is dated 1878-1879 (Hijri 1295).
