Official repairs were carried out in 1869 and 1889.
After the fire of 1918, those left homeless used the structure as a shelter.
The structure was registered in 1962.
For a period, it was allocated to the Karagümrük Youth Club; later, different periods of institutional allocation and closure were recorded.
One study states that the structure was used for a period as a Qur’an course and that it was vacant as of 1998.

It is one of the examples of the independent madrasa type.
The entrance axis of the rectangular courtyard and the axis of the courtyard are on the same line; since the entrance is higher than the street level, it is reached by steps.
There is an arrangement of domed porticoes and cells around the courtyard; the number of cells is given as 7 in some sources.
The tomb of the founder is located within the courtyard/graveyard.
It is also recorded that there were eight rooms arranged around the courtyard.
It is stated that the tomb of Etyemez Baba is located in the part of the graveyard facing the street.
