The structure was transferred to the Ministry of National Education in 1935 and opened for service as the 3rd Middle School.
After 1956, the school took the name Kemal Atatürk Middle School.
Between 1963 and 1967, double-shift education was implemented in the same building, serving as Kemal Atatürk Middle School in the morning and Kadıköy Vocational High School of Commerce in the afternoon.
In 1991, Block B was damaged during the foundation excavation of an adjacent building, and its use was prohibited.
Block A was damaged in the earthquakes of August 17, 1999, and November 12, 1999; Block C also became decommissioned during this period.
In June 2004, the reinforcement project was completed under a protocol between the Provincial Directorate of National Education and Istanbul Technical University.
In December 2004, the workshop project was completed and submitted for board approval.
In 2005, the tender was held, and reinforcement and repair works were initiated.
