Surp Haç Church
Changes After Construction:
- The church was rebuilt in 1727.
- The building underwent repairs in 1779, 1781, 1782, 1785, 1790, and 1808.
- The church was rebuilt in its present form in 1880 in finely cut stone.
- Cistern(s) were built in the church courtyard in 1831.
- The latest restoration was carried out in 1998.
Prominent Features:
- The church belongs to the Armenian Patriarchate of Turkey.
- The building is also known as the “Selâmsız Armenian Church.”
- Its roof is covered with a vaulted dome, and the church has five doors.
- It is recorded that there is an inscription on the marble rim of the cistern in the courtyard.
- The tomb of the church’s first founder is located in the garden on the northern side.
