The masonry church building was completed in 1911 and opened for worship.
Prominent Features:
The church belongs to the Armenian Catholic Patriarchate of Turkey.
The building is also known as Surp Levon Armenian Catholic Church.
The name of the church, Surp Levon, refers to Pope Leo I, who served between 440 and 461.
The church plan was arranged according to a model derived from Roman basilicas.
There are four bells of different sizes in the bell tower.
A rooster figure is placed at the top of the bell tower.
On the main altar in the apse section, there is Giovanni Cingolani’s 1890 painting of Surp Levon.
