The church was repaired from its foundations in 1903 with the donations of Zenop Bey Merametciyan.
The Merametciyan School was built in masonry in 1912 on the plot adjacent to the church.
The church was rebuilt in masonry in the 1929–1931 period; it was consecrated by Patriarch Mesrob I Naroyan in 1931 and opened for worship.
The church underwent a major restoration in 2006; it was consecrated by Patriarch Mesrob II and reopened for worship.
The latest restoration in the church was completed in 2011; it was consecrated by Archbishop Aram Ateşyan, Patriarchal Vicar, and reopened for worship.

The building is also referred to in sources as “Feriköy Surp Vartanaş Armenian Church.”
The land of the church was donated in 1858 by a Syriac named Fethullah.
The foundation of the building was laid in 1859; it was completed with the support of the board of the Pera Church and opened for worship in 1861.
The 1929–1931 reconstruction process was carried out with projects prepared by Keğam Kavafyan, the principal of Getronagan School.
