Prominent Features:
The church belongs to the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Istanbul.
The building is also referred to as Kandilli Metamorfosis Church and Kandilli Khristos Metamorphosis.
The church is located on a high hill within a large courtyard; the courtyard is entered through gates on the north and northeast.
The building has an east–west orientation and a basilical plan with three naves.
The central nave is covered with a barrel vault, while the side naves have a flat ceiling system; on the west there is a square-plan narthex, and on the east there is an apse that is half-domed inside and covered with a semi-conical roof outside.
The naves are separated from each other by five columns each; the column capitals are stylized composite capitals, and there are palmette ornaments within the arches.
Above the arches are medallions with depictions of saints; the interiors of the vaults are divided into sections by painted borders.
The north, south, and west sides of the narthex are enclosed with glass partitions; the naos is entered through a low arched doorway, and a keystone is used in the door arch.
