It has been stated that some of the madrasas in the complex were extensively renewed; within this scope, the Dar al-Hadith and the Medical Madrasa were also among the renewed structures.
From the 2018–2019 academic year onward, the building group began to be used for educational purposes within a university campus.
It has been stated that the classroom unit is identified or confused in some studies as the Dar al-Qurra or the “Tomb Keeper’s Room.”

It is also known as the Süleymaniye Dar al-Hadith; it is counted among the examples mentioned with the highest rank within the Ottoman dar al-hadith institutions.
The unit consists of two main parts: the classroom in front of the tombs and the student cells to the southeast of the mosque.
The classroom is located on the qibla side of the mosque, in front of the tombs of Suleiman the Magnificent and Hurrem Sultan; the cells are arranged as a mass extending to the southeast of the mosque.
The complex was established in a multifunctional arrangement on terraced topography; the Dar al-Hadith Madrasa is counted among the educational structures of this whole.
It is stated that beneath the mosque courtyard wall and the Dar al-Hadith Madrasa there is a row of vaulted shops known as the “Dökmeciler Bazaar.”
